It's not just you. Nature has a powerful effect on the brain, reducing a specific kind of stress and depression-related activity in the prefrontal cortex called rumination. A study revealed that participants who exercised in a natural environment showed reduced neural activity in the prefrontal cortex and reported a lowering of repetitive negative thought patterns about themselves.


Working out in green space can up your game by allowing workout-induced endorphins to take the lead. So a few outdoor workouts into your gym routine can give you a natural energy boost.
